چکیده

Strong-field induced valence electron excitation is a common process in strong field interaction with atoms and molecules. In the case of polyatomic molecules, effects ionization from low-lying molecular orbitals nuclear dynamics during can play critical roles for excitation. this work, we investigate involved singly ionized acetylene laser using alignment dependence intensity dependence. Additionally, are identified difference kinetic energy release angular distribution laser-induced dissociation different pulse durations intensities. The clearly shows relative strength change two pathways measured momentum angle-resolved distributions.

Excitation of C60 using a chirped free electron laser.

Gas phase C60 is resonantly excited using picosecond infrared (IR) pulses from a free electron laser. The excitation can be very high, reaching levels where the thermal emission of electrons from C60 is observed. The excitation is much more efficient when the IR radiation is chirped to lower frequencies during the excitation process. The excitation process is modeled and the results are compare...

Multiple Electron Ejection from Proteins Resulting from Single-Photon Excitation in the Valence Shell.

One-photon multiple ionization is a signature of dynamical electron correlations in atoms and small molecules, as observed in the Auger process when Auger electron emission follows core-shell ionization. In such a process, the high energy needed to remove several electrons is due to the strong Coulombic attraction between the last departing electron(s) and the ionic core. Multiply negatively ch...

Excitation nonlinearities in emission reabsorption laser-induced fluorescence techniques.

The effects of the nonlinear behavior of fluorescent intensity with excitation intensity on emission reabsorption laser-induced fluorescence (ERLIF) are investigated. Excitation nonlinearities arise mainly as a consequence of the depletion of the ground-state population stemming from the finite lifetime of molecules in the excited state. These nonlinearities hinder proper suppression of the exc...

Low - energy elastic electron scattering by acetylene

Acetylene, C2H2, is a prototypical molecule in several respects. As a readily available gas and one of the smallest and most symmetric polyatomic molecules, it is amenable to both experimental and computational study. It is the smallest member of the important family of unsaturated hydrocarbons and is isoelectronic with N2, having in common with those molecules both a bonding πu orbital and an ...

Laser-Excited Hot-Electron Induced Desorption

The quest for femtochemistry provided a guiding motivation for many researchers [1,2] far in advance of the award of the 1999 Nobel Prize in Chemistry to Ahmed Zewail “for his pioneering investigation of fundamental chemical reactions, using ultra short laser flashes, on the time scale on which the reactions actually occur” [3]. The rich array of possibilities that femtochemistry potentially of...
